Art & Design Technology

Course details

Our aim is to deliver an all-inclusive curriculum whereby students are encouraged to explore creative and thought provoking projects that challenge misconceptions, develop their practical abilities, build their resilience and confidence, develop their ability to problem solve independently using the resources around them, aspire for greatness without any limitations and build on knowledge and skills to prepare them for further study or careers.

Through our carefully tailored curriculum pupils are encouraged to explore, investigate and understand a wide range of modern-day issues. British values are deeply imbedded throughout our projects and curriculum at both key stage three and key stage four for example; studying units around tolerance or social justice.

All projects are carefully developed in a clear and structured order to ensure it is inclusive of all pupils’ needs and our clear pupil friendly success criteria enables learning to be scaffolded and provided opportunities for challenge and development of skills over time.
